Vislink announces the formation of the new Law Enforcement and Public Safety Business Unit

Michael Payne has been appointed Managing Director of Law Enforcement and Public Safety

Hungerford, UK and North Billerica Massachusetts, Vislink Group has announced the creation of a worldwide Law Enforcement and Public Safety business unit. The new business unit will be responsible for developing, marketing and selling the Group’s innovative secure communications solutions for the worldwide market. The Law Enforcement and Public Safety business unit brings together Vislink’s four established businesses of Advent Communications, Link Research, Microwave Radio Communications and Pacific Microwave Research. All four companies are currently suppliers to the Law Enforcement, Public Safety and Defense sectors with strong technology, established international distribution and a diverse customer base.

Vislink Law Enforcement and Public Safety will continue to support and develop the product portfolios of all four companies: including Advent’s satellite communications solutions, Link’s radio frequency and wireless camera systems, and Microwave Radio Communications’ terrestrial point-to-point microwave solutions, as well as the secure digital video systems from Pacific Microwave Research (PMR).

Mike Payne, formerly the Vislink Group’s Chief Technology Officer, has been appointed to the new role of Managing Director of Vislink Law Enforcement and Public Safety.

“The Vislink companies have a strong technology portfolio rooted in innovation”, said Duncan Lewis, Chief Executive of Vislink PLC. “Our customers depend on our ability to provide products which can transmit high-bandwidth information reliably and securely back to a centralized control point, be it on the bridge of a ship, law enforcement command center or from a helicopter to ground control and monitoring. Therefore it is our mission, as Vislink Law Enforcement and Public Safety, to provide secure communications that support the vast array of applications that our customers require. It is for this reason that we bought PMR last year, and we are delighted with the quality of it technology and excellent customer relationships, which complement those of the other companies in the Group.”
