Broadcast RF completed a 2014 hat trick at three major UK events using Vislink L1700 wireless camera system transmissions systems at two Open Golf Championships and now the Ryder Cup.
Scotland, the home of golf, provided the venue for this bi-annual event, with the tournament taking place at the Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course in Perthshire.
Once again Broadcast RF were tasked to provide the entire wireless camera coverage, this time for both the Host Broadcaster and Sky TV coverage. Fielding a total of 11 Wireless camera systems, including Steadicam and Hi-speed cameras, and with a network of 10 receive positions, the Opening Ceremony, the Gleneagles Hotel, and all 18 holes of this (RF) difficult course, had flawless coverage during each day of the event. With a bespoke GPS tracking and mapping system, integrated into the camera wireless systems, Broadcast RF engineers were able to track the exact positions of all the roving cameras out on the course and therefore, consistently select the best receive antennas for each camera.
But it doesn't end there. Broadcast RF's equipment, crew and Vislink kit are straight on to the Dunhill Links Championships, also in Scotland, for the provision of more wireless cameras for the European Tour TV coverage at this three course event.
"Vislink equipment has played a massive part in the success of Broadcast RF flawless coverage and upgrading to the L1700 has largely contributed to that."Chris Brandrick, Broadcast RF
