Job Summary

Summary

The Customer Service Electronic Repair Technician is the customer interface for the troubleshooting and repair of wireless video electronic equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for troubleshooting/repair of warranty/non-warranty repairs of wireless video electronic equipment.
  • Work directly with the customer to triage units and help determine if the product needs to be returned for service, or if field repair may be performed.
  • Work directly with the customer, over telephone and email, to validate the failure.
  • Work with the customer service manager and/or representative on estimate preparation.
  • Incorporate engineering changes as required.
  • Identify and upgrade software for programmable devices within product lines.
  • Clearly document work performed and record results.
  • May provide technical assistance and work direction to lower-level technicians.
  • Trouble-shoot and repair failed or intermittent circuit boards and radio systems.
  • Write-up repair reports within ticketing system and/or prepare customer facing failure report.
  • Work with Engineering personnel to document design changes as appropriate.

Education and Experience

  • 5 years of previous electronics technician experience, degree in electronics preferred
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, assembly drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language in order to perform all work functions.
  • Ability to test, debug, troubleshoot and repair complex electronic assemblies, components and systems.
  • Must know how to operate multi-meter, DC power supply, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, and microwave signal generator.
  • Physical ability to lift, shift, and carry up to 50 pounds as required.
