The Manufacturing Engineer Manager leads a team of manufacturing and test engineers to support and optimize the manufacture and test of microwave transmitters and receivers, including the transition of new designs and processes from engineering to manufacturing and/or contract manufacturing, ensuring that designs for manufacturing and quality meet best in class.
Develop processes for transitioning products from one manufacturing facility to another whether in house out to a contract manufacturer
Implement processes within group to identify manufacturing issues or product non-conformances, determines root cause and implements corrective and preventive actions
Establish points of contact for communication inside the company across all sites and outside the company to suppliers and contract manufacturers.
Oversee all document control functions, including entry of New Part data, Bill of Material release and maintenance, Engineering Drawing and Documentation release, Revision Control
Ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) methods are considered and implemented for both new and existing products.
Oversee group’s involvement with the NPI process, including design review, prototype build, pilot build and release of product to production
Daily interface with various manufacturing departments to ensure product is built to specification
Identify equipment, testing and assembly fixture requirements to support contract manufacturing
Develop, release and maintains manufacturing process and test documentation, including assembly drawings, assembly instructions, step by step testing and work flow routings
Drafts and champions manufacturing deviations.
Establish process improvements with a key emphasis on process optimization and cost improvements
Interfaces with outside suppliers relative to process and quality issues
Initiates and processes Engineering Change documentation, supports implementation of ECs in production
B.S degree in Engineering
5-7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in electronic manufacturing environment in a managing role with direct reports
Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively across all levels of the organization to accomplish desired results
Proficiency in the use of computers/software including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Visio; CAD experience a plus
Ability to travel (15 – 20%) as needed
Dynamic, upbeat, organized self-starter requiring little supervision
