The Sales Application Engineer (SAE) provides presales technical expertise for Vislink Technologies’ products. The SAE will work with the Regional Sales Manager and the client to ensure the business understand the client’s technical needs and work to provide a solution that exceeds the client’s needs. Efforts is made to meet the needs of the client in the most cost-effective manner using existing off the shelf products. The SAE is an integral member of the sales team and is relied on to effectively communicate Vislink Technologies technical values and to communicate the requirements of the client’s solution into the business. The SAE is responsible for ensuring the solution is effectively documented to ensure the clients expectations are met. The SAE is responsible for gathering detailed technical data, system diagram and accurate quotation. A SAE will be required to travel to customer locations, perform demonstrations and generate technical proposals.
Identifies current and future requirements by establishing a personal rapport with the client.
Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by responding to questions and requests.
Establishes new accounts and services by identifying potential customers; planning and organizing sales call schedule.
Prepares cost estimates from engineering analysis, drawings and prints developed by the solutions engineering team.
Develops customers staff by providing technical information and training.
Will perform sales and equipment demonstrations to the customer, travel required within the Americas with potential for global travel.
Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering application trends.
Will contribute and travel to trade shows.
Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
Sales Engineering Skills and Qualifications
The Sales Application Engineer candidate must possess extremely elevated verbal and written
Communications skills to interface internally to various groups within the Vislink organization.
The candidate must have some experience with wireless communications equipment, some knowledge of television broadcast operations, microwave point to point communications systems.
Experience with outside broadcast and wireless camera systems a plus.
The candidate must have skills to develop presentation and training materials to present to the customer as both sales and training tools.
Must have some experience operating wireless communications systems, broadcast wireless camera systems a plus. Satellite communications experience also desirable.
Must maintain a professional and technical knowledge and portray that while addressing groups of customers both internal and external to the organization.
Must be physically capable of performing product demonstrations in off-site environments such as sports arenas and public venues.
