The four rounds of the 2014 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup started in Milan this past weekend with athletes from 38 countries battling it out, it was Italy that finally came out on top with 17 Medals, 8 Gold, 4 Silver and 5 Bronze.
Previously known as flat-water racing the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships are an international event in canoeing organised by the International Canoe Federation. The World Championships have taken place every year in non-Summer Olympic years since 1970. Starting with three races two weeks apart with the final race being held in August.
E.I. Towers Mediaset were covering the event using Gigawave's superb H.264 wireless camera transmitters, vehicle and zip line mounted. These systems were used to transmit the remote video back to an onshore receive system. By using these systems the action could be followed in close detail from the lake bringing the action to the screen. Gigawave's systems have been used in other water sport events from canoeing to yacht racing over the years and this experience enables us to deliver systems that capture these events in all their high definition glory.
