For Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium, Vislink worked with NEP to support a roaming RF camera workflow built around a secure, reliable RF network, with a layer of centralized control enabled by MeshConnect.
The deployment was designed to deliver stable, low-latency camera coverage within a highly congested RF environment, while providing engineering teams with clear visibility and remote device management across the RF network.
The system supported roaming cameras used for both the live broadcast feed and the in-stadium production screens, requiring consistent low-latency transmission throughout the event.

The Challenge
The Super Bowl presents a complex wireless environment; cameras, microphones, communication systems, stadium infrastructure and consumer devices all operate within a tightly managed spectrum, with conditions shifting throughout the event, requiring continuous monitoring and adjustment.
Camera operators move constantly between varied filming locations, all the time needing to maintain stable video feeds for the in-stadium screens as well as the live broadcast.

From an operational perspective, multiple transmitters and receivers must be monitored simultaneously. Engineers require real-time insight into link health and the ability to make adjustments without accessing devices physically during live play. This requires not only transmission reliability, but centralized system control.
NEP required an RF workflow that combined resilient transmission, stable reception, and unified monitoring.
The Solution
Vislink HCAM transmitters were deployed across handheld and Steadicam rigs to provide RF transmission from the field, enabling consistent roaming coverage throughout the event, and providing:

Inside the technical compound, Vislink Quantum receivers provided:
Quantum ensured field transmissions were delivered as clean, production-ready feeds.

MeshConnect provided a centralized control layer across all devices, allowing engineers to manage the RF system as a unified network rather than a collection of individual links.
Through MeshConnect, teams were able to control cameras, shading and lookup tables (LUTS). This reduced the need for physical intervention and improved operational efficiency during the broadcast, while also enabling consistent control across all cameras and video feeds. Through MeshConnect, teams were able to control cameras, shading and lookup tables, while monitoring link health across the network.
Broadcast teams could change light, shading and other settings as required from a central control point, saving time and easing the process of picture conformity between each camera. Settings could be amended, updated or reviewed on a live basis to give the best final broadcast result.
Despite operating in a complex, busy environment, MeshConnect worked flawlessly throughout the broadcast, supporting the valuable creative work of the many broadcasting engineers on site.

“Events at the scale of the Super Bowl require RF systems to operate as a coordinated network. MeshConnect provided NEP with centralized visibility and control across transmitters and receivers, helping engineers maintain stable performance throughout the broadcast.”
Craig Hallas, Director of Product Management & Solutions Engineering, Vislink

The Result
With tens of thousands of fans in the stadium and a global broadcast audience, the system operated continuously throughout the event without disruption.
The combined deployment of HCAM, Quantum, and MeshConnect supported stable roaming RF coverage throughout the event. Centralized monitoring enabled efficient system management within a complex wireless environment.
The workflow demonstrated how transmission, reception, and device control can operate as an integrated RF ecosystem within Tier 1 live sports production.
