The Vislink Airborne Video Downlink System (AVDS) is a comprehensive aerial-based video transmission solution that delivers real-time surveillance that enhances law enforcement, emergency and critical infrastructure operations. AVDS is comprised of an integrated suite of downlink transmitters, receivers and antennas that capture real-time, reliable high-definition video from drones, helicopters and other aircraft for display at command centers, mobile units and on video management systems.
AVDS, which has been deployed by law enforcement agencies, adds an additional layer of safety and security to missions being carried out on the ground. It can play an essential role in surveillance, assessment and deployment operations. AVDS is a critical tool for improving situational awareness by giving those on the ground a clear and reliable picture of what is being captured from airborne units.
AVDS components include the HDX-1100, Mini MobilCMDR, CIRAS-x6, CRx6, CRx2 and the new TSM-2020 , as shown in the following diagram:
The HDX-1100 is a fully integrated, high powered microwave transmitter, based on aircraft industry standards for ruggedness, size, and weight. Highly efficient H.264/ MPEG-4 Encoding is a standard feature, and MPEG-2 Encoding is an available option to provide both capabilities.
The Mini MobilCMDR is a small, ruggedized COFDM (DVB-T compliant) diversity handheld receiver/monitor. It features AES Bcrypt decryption capabilities that make it ideal for applications ranging from public security monitoring to covert surveillance.
The CIRAS-x6 (Central Integrated Radome System x6) is a ruggedized COFDM (DVB-T compliant) six-way diversity receiver integrated into a six-segment antenna pod. It is designed to automatically optimize the receive signal at all times, and virtually eliminate all human intervention.
The CRx6 (Compact Receiver X2) is a six-way diversity central receiver, while the CRX2 (Compact Receiver X2) is a two-way diversity central receiver. Both are ruggedized COFDM (DVB-T compliant) units. They offer exceptional RF performance and IP66 environmental durability for external use, and are designed to withstand any weather conditions.
The TSM-2020 is a transport stream management system is used to collect, aggregate and distribute video captured from a single or multiple receive site application. The TSM-2020 extends critical situational video to an unlimited number of observers who can view the video over any network connection, including wired Ethernet, Wi-Fi, IP satellite and IP cellular. Video can be distributed over a secure IP network or the public internet.
